Images and galleries

Choose and describe images

  1. Open Media to upload and organise assets. Uploading here adds an image to the library; choose it in an image field to place it on a page.
  2. Use Choose image in a field to search names, alternative text and folders across the library. Page controls keep your current selection; reopening returns to its page.
  3. Give images useful alternative text. It describes the image for people who cannot see it; a visible caption can say something different.

Supported uploads are PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF and AVIF. Large still images are optimised before upload. Controls report size or format errors; SVG uploads are not accepted.

If a Media batch stops, completed uploads stay in the library. Use Retry to continue with the remaining files, or Skip and continue if the failed file is not needed. Pending files remain available only while that Media workspace stays open; after leaving or refreshing, select the remaining files again.

Replace and crop

  1. Select an asset in Media and choose Replace to review a replacement. Replacement updates supported references across the project, so check its usages first.
  2. Set the Focal point to the important part of the photograph. Use the preview or position controls, then check the actual section at mobile width.
  3. Use Undo if a recent change is wrong. Disconnect an asset still in use before removing it.

Use a field’s image picker when only that one placement should change. Remove image clears that placement and keeps its asset in Media. Replace changes the asset’s supported references throughout the project.

Set website images

  1. As a project administrator, open Studio → Settings → Images. Choose a Favicon for the browser tab and a Social image for shared page links.
  2. Choose existing media or upload a separate image. Alternative text comes from the selected asset in Media.
  3. Remove image restores the automatic default without deleting the asset. Undo reverses a recent removal.
  4. Preview the browser icon, then publish when ready. Public sharing images and icons change only after publication.
  1. Select a native Gallery and choose Add photos. Search media, select photographs or Select shown, then add the selection. Upload photos accepts several files in order.
  2. Use photo rows to edit captions and descriptions, reorder or remove individual photos.
  3. Clear photos asks you to review the number being removed. It empties this gallery, keeping the assets in Media. Undo restores a recent clear.
  4. Check the slider and full-size viewer. Arrow keys, Home and End move through photos; Escape closes the viewer.

For a collection-backed gallery, manage its entries or selected entries instead. Imported custom gallery components can have different controls.
